Engineering firm Bosch Vietnam will collaborate with Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Vietnam (RMIT Vietnam) to provide students with skills and knowledge to meet changing demands in a “technology-driven landscape.”

Under a memorandum of understanding signed by both sides in Ho Chi Minh City Tuesday, the collaboration will contribute to Bosch’s local-for-global strategy for nurturing and developing a skilled and talented workforce in Vietnam.

The collaboration will be based on four key pillars: education opportunities for students, skills development, corporate and executive education, and commercial & technical research opportunities.

This will include sessions where Bosch's experts provide career guidance to RMIT's students, offer real-world case studies covering both technical and commercial topics, facilitate hands-on projects through visits to Bosch's plant and R&D center, provide increased exposure to career opportunities at Bosch and offer professional development assistance for students to transition smoothly into their careers.

Empowering future generations

Dominik Meichle, managing director of Bosch Vietnam, said the company was unwavering in its focus on human resource development.

“Our investment is not just about today; it aims to support a high-quality labor force for Vietnam, poised to adapt to the rapid technological and innovative shifts occurring globally and within the country,” he said.

RMIT Vietnam’s associate pro vice-chancellor Jodie Altan said the partnership will offer RMIT students valuable exposure to practical knowledge and hands-on experiences from Bosch experts across diverse technical and commercial fields.

“This strategic alliance reinforces the bond between Bosch and RMIT, with a shared goal of nurturing local talent to positively impact Vietnam’s growth,” Altan said.

Under the MoU framework, Bosch Vietnam and RMIT will collaborate on creating specialized Corporate Executive Development (CED) courses and programs tailored to meet the specific needs of companies in Vietnam and the region.

These initiatives aim to enhance students' digital literacy and technological adaptability, particularly in smart manufacturing and automation for Industry 4.0.

Moreover, Bosch plans to send over top experts to deliver lectures and provide practical insights to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

The Germany-headquartered firm is also exploring the integration of relevant RMIT Vietnam CED programs into its strategic workforce development plans, Meichle said.
