Carlsberg Vietnam's journey of sustainable growth and lasting commitment with central Vietnam
In 2025, Carlsberg Vietnam, along with its beloved Huda brand, celebrates seven years of a promise that continues to flow strong, “Fresh Water for Beloved Central”.
“Fresh Water for Beloved Central” is the company’s long-term initiative to bring clean, reliable water to underserved communities across central Vietnam – a region it has proudly called home for more than three decades.
More than a CSR campaign, the initiative is grounded in a simple, enduring belief that sustainability starts with doing the right thing – creating real, lasting value for people today while helping build stronger, more resilient communities for tomorrow.
Over 3.3 million cubic meters of clean water and a 7-year journey of shared impact
Since its launch in 2019, “Fresh Water for Beloved Central” has delivered clean water to nearly 9,000 households across central Vietnam, transforming the daily lives of around 35,000 people.
In 2025, the journey continues with four new clean water systems under construction in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh (prior to its administrative merger with Quang Tri), and Quang Tri - provinces where safe, accessible water remains a daily concern for many.

Carlsberg Vietnam breaks ground on four new clean water projects in 2025, expanding access for nearly 500 households across central provinces.
In close collaboration with local authorities, Carlsberg Vietnam conducted on-site surveys and thorough assessments of the existing water supply systems in each area to ensure that support is targeted and brings practical benefits to the communities. Based on the findings, the company upgraded filtration systems, repaired existing infrastructure, and installed new pipelines to deliver clean water directly to individual households.
In 2025 alone, the new projects are expected to supply approximately 40,000 m³ of clean water to nearly 500 households, benefiting more than 3,800 people. To date, the “Fresh Water for Beloved Central” program has delivered over 3.3 million m³ of clean water through 30 water stations across Central provinces – a clear testament to Carlsberg Vietnam’s long-term commitment to supporting sustainable community development.
“Seven years is more than just a milestone – it reflects the trust and enduring partnership we’ve built with Central Vietnam,” shared one representative of Carlsberg Vietnam. “Clean water is not just a necessity. It is the foundation of health, safety, and opportunity. We’re proud to walk alongside the people of Central Vietnam, not only as a brewer but as a long-term partner in sustainable growth.”

Each system is developed in close partnership with local authorities to ensure solutions that meet the unique needs of every community.
Sustainability at the source
Carlsberg Vietnam’s commitment to water stewardship goes beyond community outreach – it begins within its own operations.
At Phu Bai Brewery in Hue, one of Carlsberg’s largest beer production sites in Asia, sustainability is integrated into every drop brewed. In 2024, the brewery recorded an average water consumption of just 2.09 hl/hl (hectoliters of water per hectoliter of beer), making it one of the most water-efficient facilities in Vietnam and among the top 10 within Carlsberg Asia.
In parallel, the company continues to invest in expanding community access to water through “Fresh Water for Beloved Central”, with tens of thousands of cubic meters delivered annually. This dual-track approach - optimizing water usage inside the brewery while extending support beyond its walls - exemplifies Carlsberg Vietnam’s sustainability philosophy: every drop should be used responsibly and given greater purpose.
A lasting commitment that continues to flow

Behind every drop is a story. Clean water brings dignity, safety, and opportunity to thousands of families in the region.
As the initiative enters its seventh year, “Fresh Water for Beloved Central” stands as more than just a clean water program. It is a symbol of Carlsberg Vietnam’s long-standing dedication to the central region - a place that has been at the heart of the company’s growth journey for decades.
For Carlsberg Vietnam, every drop of water carries meaning, not just in every beer brewed, but in every hope nurtured alongside communities, in pursuit of its mission to “Brew for a better today and tomorrow.”
