Central Highlands province specialties promoted at weeklong HCMC event
Hundreds of products from the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong are being showcased at the weeklong (August 23-29) Product Consumption Connection Week in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's southern economic hub.
The event is being held at the Saigon Export Center on Nguyen Hue street, District 1, HCMC.
It features a wide variety of products including vegetables, coffee, tea, essential oils and cakes from 27 businesses based in Lam Dong.

Nguyen Van Hoai Nam, director of NLC Confectionery Ltd., introduced coffee bean-shaped cakes made with coffee and strawberries. These cakes are handmade by individuals with disabilities in Da Lat town, Lam Dong province.
Nguyen Ngoc Hoang Anh, director of Eco Chain, talked about a range of specialty fruit products from Da Lat. Eco Chain’s products are already available in several major supermarket chains in HCMC.
The event, which adopts a strategy to connect and introduce "one commune, one product (OCOP)," is highlighting Lam Dong’s unique offerings in order to promote trade between Lam Dong and HCMC.
"This event will support businesses, cooperatives and production facilities in Lam Dong in promoting and connecting their agricultural products that meet export standards.
“It presents products certified as typical rural industrial products, OCOP products and key products from Lam Dong to distributors and businesses in HCMC," said Tran Phu Lu, director of the Investment and Trade Promotion Center of HCMC (ITPC).
Nguyen Vinh Quang, deputy director of the province’s Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion, added that Lam Dong has 352 OCOP products certified with three to five stars and 22 exclusive brand certificates. The most notable among these is the "Da Lat-miraculous crystallization from the good land" brand, which represents four products: vegetables, flowers, Arabica coffee, and agricultural tourism.
"Lam Dong sees HCMC as a significant, traditional and central market for orienting our production, business and service activities. This connecting week, with participation from 27 enterprises, is an opportunity for OCOP products and the 'Da Lat-miraculous crystallization from the good land' brand to reach consumers in the most vibrant market in the country," Quang said.
