Thailand’s leading retailer Central Retail is set to open its GO! hypermarket in the northern province of Hung Yen in July, its 43rd in Vietnam.

So far, Central Retail has completed 90% of the recruitment for the facility, a representative said at a career fair in Hung Yen last Sunday.

Central Retail kicked off the construction of the $18 million mall in June 2024. The mall covers 1.6 hectares, featuring a supermarket, a food court, a kid playground, and other facilities.

Central Retail entered Vietnam in 2012 and currently covers 42 cities and provinces, with over one million square meters of retail space and 340 stores. Its team of 15,000 employees serves over 390,000 customers daily, the rep added.

Its latest opening in Vietnam was a hypermarket per its GO! model in Vietnam’s south-central province of Ninh Thuan. With an investment of VND276 billion ($10.9 million), the 1.2 hectare facility was open in January 2025.

Central Retail posted H1/2024 revenues of THB26,448 million ($774 million) in Vietnam, up 2.2% year-on-year. Vietnam is the group's second-biggest market, only behind Thailand, the retailer’s domestic market, which saw H1/2024 revenues of THB89,966 million ($2.63 billion).
