Chinese aviation firm to introduce two aircraft models in Vietnam
State-owned Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) will demonstrate its narrow-body C919 and ARJ21 aircraft next week at the Van Don international airport in Quang Ninh province.
According to authorities in the northern coastal province, the February 26-29 demonstration can help launch new air routes connecting Van Don airport to Chinese destinations, initially Shantou city in Guangdong province.
During the event, the Chinese-made aircraft are set to fly from Van Don airport to popular tourism locations including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Cam Ranh (in the central province of Khanh Hoa), Con Dao (in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau), and Dong Hoi (in the central province of Quang Binh).

Van Don airport is currently the first and only private airport in Vietnam. Invested by local conglomerate Sun Group, the airport with a designed capacity of 10 million passengers a year was put into operation in late 2018.
COMAC’s C919, a jetliner, made its international debut last Sunday at the Singapore Airshow. At home, COMAC delivered its first C919 to China Eastern Airlines in December 2022 and made its first commercial flight in May 2023.
