Construction giant Deo Ca partners with Denmark firm to build first wind tunnel lab in Vietnam
Vietnam’s construction giant Deo Ca Group said Tuesday that it was teaming up with Denmark’s SOH Wind Engineering to build the nation’s first wind tunnel lab.
It said the cooperation agreement signed Monday was part of preparations to build wind tunnels serving the construction of cable-stayed bridges in Vietnam.
The lab will help train high-quality engineers for construction of traffic infrastructure in Vietnam, an official of the Ministry of Construction said at the signing ceremony in Copenhagen.

Per the agreement, SOH Wind Engineering will work with Deo Ca to build the wind tunnel lab, transfer technology and train experts to operate the lab.
SOH Wind Engineering is willing to connect Deo Ca with the firm’s major partners in Europe and Denmark for technology transfer and consultation, said Svend Ole Hansen, founder and chairman of the Danish firm.
The lab will be operated by Deo Ca’s research-training institute jointly established last month by the group and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport.
SOH Wind Engineering, a world leader in wind engineering, specializes in the testing and analysis of buildings, bridges, anemometers and many other structures. It now operates two wind tunnels – Williston Wind Tunnel in the U.S. and Copenhagen Wind Tunnel in Denmark.
Deo Ca, known as the "Tunnel King" in Vietnam, is well known for building the Co Ma, Deo Ca, Cu Mong and Hai Van 2 tunnels. It has also built the Bac Giang-Lang Son Expressway; Trung Luong-My Thuan Expressway, and completed packages for major projects on the North-South Expressway.
