Cordless technology leader TTI plans to expand manufacturing in southern Vietnam
Germany's Techtronic Industries Company Limited (TTI), a world leader in power tools and outdoor power equipment, wants to expand its Milwaukee plant in Ho Chi Minh City.
Horst Pudwill, chairman and founder of TTI, made the statement at a meeting with Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc about enlarging its plant at the Saigon High-Tech Park.
Milwaukee, TTI's brand for power tools, equipment and accessories, is at the forefront of the group's professional tool portfolio.

TTI, founded in 1985, started operating in Vietnam in August 2018. Among the facilities in Vietnam are a Milwaukee plant at the Saigon High-Tech Park (SHTP), a representative office, and a Milwaukee brand product warranty and display center in HCMC.
Pudwill also said he hopes to continue expanding cooperation with HCMC in developing supply chains and advanced manufacturing solutions.

In response, HCMC Chairman Duoc informed the TTI leader of the complete merger of HCMC, Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau - industrial centers in southern Vietnam.
The city is also implementing the two-level local government model which has been applied across the country (including provincial and communal levels with the district level in between removed) to enhance the effectiveness of state administration and improve the business environment for businesses and people.
"After the merger, the new Ho Chi Minh City will have space for development on a larger scale with the expectation of becoming a megacity and a leading financial, logistics, innovation and economic center in Vietnam and the region," said Duoc.
Duoc noted that he hopes TTI will not only expand investment but also promote research and development (R&D) cooperation and technology transfer, and support the development of the city's high-tech supply chain.
TTI is also expected to accompany human resource development activities, support youth startups, offer scholarships, organize short-term internship programs, and coordinate with universities and technical colleges in the city to train highly qualified engineers in the STEM field.
The city leader affirmed that TTI will continue to be an important strategic partner in the orientation of building a knowledge-based and innovative economy of the city in the coming period.
