Danang official dismissed from Party positions over extramarital affair
Le Minh Trung, Vice Chairman of Danang People’s Council, the central city’s legislature, was removed from all Party positions for showing "a lack of morals”, the Party Secretariat announced Thursday.
After considering the Central Inspection Committee’s proposal, the secretariat concluded that Trung had violated the regulations on Party members' conduct and the Law on Marriage and Family.
His violations have caused “negative public opinion, affecting the reputation of Party organizations and state agencies”.
On April 26, a woman working at a high school in Danang posted a Facebook photo taken with Trung, who has a family. This person wrote that she had a child with him. Danang's Party Committee then directed relevant authorities to clarify the case.
Trung, 46, was elected vice chairman of Danang People’s Council in July 2018.
On the same day, the secretariat expelled Dinh Quy Nhan, former director of Quang Binh province’s Department of Education and Training, from the Party for violating the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations, as well as the regulations on Party members’ conduct.
Nhan was found guilty of abusing power and intentionally violating Party regulations and State laws in recruiting state employees. “Nhan’s violations caused serious consequences, adversely affecting the reputation of the Party and the education sector in Quang Binh.”
The secretariat ordered relevant authorities to discipline Trung and Nhan.
