Deputy chief of Binh Duong industrial zones arrested
Nguyen Thanh Trung, deputy head of the Binh Duong Industrial Zones Authority, was detained on Thursday for alleged violations while on duty.
Trung, 49, was arrested pending further investigation into his alleged abuse of position and power while on duty per the Penal Code, according to the Ministry of Public Security's investigative agency.
This is a new development regarding a case involving the labor departments of Binh Duong province and some other localities that are now under investigation.
Dozens of people have questioned for crimes including organizing and brokering for others to stay in Vietnam illegally, forging official seals and documents of agencies and organizations, and giving bribes.
Previously, the agency arrested Le Minh Quoc Cuong, former director of Binh Duong's labor department, for abusing his position and power while on duty.
