Foreigners begin net buying after net-selling weeks
Foreign investors net purchased nearly VND158.7 billion ($6.7 million) on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) on Tuesday after 14 sessions of net selling.
They mainly bought VRE of Vincom Retail, HPG of steel maker Hoa Phat, HDB of HDBank, and STB of Sacombank.

Their buy-in decisions helped Vietnam's benchmark VN-Index gain 10.66 points, or 1.04%, to close at 1,037.84.
The main bourse saw 210 tickers rising, 160 losing, and 84 going flat. More than 473.1 million shares changed hands for over VND8.25 trillion ($348.76 million).
Blue chips were the main support for the VN-Index gain, with up to 27 out of 30 codes in the VN30 basket increasing. Among the gainers, MSN of Masan Group expanded by 5.24%, BID of BIDV bank by 2.4%, CTG of VietinBank 2.29%, VPB of VPBank 1.75%, VRE of Vincom Retail 1.72%, and VNM of Vinamilk 1.07%.
The only two losers in the group were NVL of property developer Novaland and TCB of Techcombank.
Steel stocks made strong gains, with KVC of Kim Vi Inox Import Export Production JSC hitting its ceiling price, NKG of Nam Kim up 6.5%, HSG of Hoa Sen 4.9%, and HPG of giant Hoa Phat 3.4%.
The banking group also showed good performance. EIB of Eximbank enjoyed the maximum increase of 6.8%, SGB of Saigonbank rose 4.7%, and NVB of Navibank 4.2%.
Green covered other groups like oil and gas, securities and construction.
The HNX-Index on the Hanoi bourse went up 0.94 points to 207.5, while the UpCOM-Index on the unlisted public company market rose 0.17 points to close at 76.17.
