Former assistant to State President appointed general director of state-owned financial firm HFIC
Truong Tuan Anh, an official at the State President Office and former assistant to a state president, has been appointed general director of Ho Chi Minh City Finance and Investment Stated-owned Company (HFIC).
The appointment decision was handed over by Ho Chi Minh City’s Chairman Phan Van Mai to Anh on Monday.
Assigning tasks to Anh at the ceremony, Mai suggested HFIC’s board of directors review and propose new strategies for the HCMC-based company.
HFIC has been positioned as an important tool to mobilize resources for development investment, noted Mai, asking HFIC leaders to strengthen its role over the rest of the year.
“For example, in order to have resources for the city’s urban railway project and Ring Road 4 project, it is necessary to consider issuing local government bonds and project bonds. Therefore, HFIC must act as an advisory body for municipal leaders on this work,” said Mai.
On the same day, the city chairman granted Le Ngoc Thuy Trang, general director of HFIC, his decision to appoint her as deputy chief of the HCMC People’s Committee Office until retirement.
Speaking at the assignment ceremony, Mai asked Trang to focus on advising the standing board of the HCMC People’s Committee on the project to establish an international financial center in the city.
He also appointed Nguyen Ky Phung, vice chairman of Thu Duc city, as head of the Board of Management of Saigon High-Tech Park (SHTP).
Mai asked SHTP leaders to review the operations and land fund to attract investment, especially from big companies, and raise occupancy rates.
He assigned SHTP leaders to focus on completing documents for the phase 2 of the technology and science park project that aims to connect with other spaces in Thu Duc city, HCMC and other localities in southeastern Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Tai, vice chairman of Binh Chanh district, was appointed head of the Construction and Investment Management Board of the New Urban Area South of HCMC.
Nguyen Ngoc Hien, director of the construction and investment consulting service center under this board, became deputy head of this board.
The municipal chairman also appointed Tran Thanh Binh, vice chairman of District 3, as deputy director of the HCMC Development Research Institute.
