Former Phu Yen Party chief receives Politburo warning
The Vietnamese Politburo on Friday warned Huynh Tan Viet, former Party secretary of Phu Yen and former chairman of the province's legislature body over his violations in performance of duties.
Viet is currently a Party Central Committee member and chief of the Party Committee of Centrally-run Agencies.
As leader, Huynh Tan Viet was mainly responsible for violations and wrongdoings of Phu Yen's Party units and directly responsible for violations and wrongdoings in performance of personal duties, Party Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong concluded in a Friday meeting of the Party’s premier decision-making body.

Nguyen Chi Hien, former acting vice chairman of Phu Yen, was dispelled from the Communist Party.
As leader of the province's Land Auction Council, Hien was "mainly responsbile for the occurrence of criminal cases related to violations of regulations on state property management and utility, causing losses and waste at the South Tuy Hoa Town new urban area. Hien had directed and signed many documents in violation of the laws."
The violations of Huynh Tan Viet and Nguyen Chi Hien "caused serious consequences, leading to big losses to the state budget, undermining the prestige of the Party units and the provincial administration, and causing anger in society."
The Poliburo recommended relevant agencies to take disciplinary actions in line with regulations against related entities and individuals.
