FTSE Russell adds three Vietnam tickers to flagship index

Global index provider FTSE Russell has added three Vietnamese stocks to its FTSE Vietnam Index, the underlying index of the FTSE Vietnam ETF.

FRT of FPT Digital Retail, FTS of FPT Securities, and KDH of Khang Dien House Trading & Investment were added to the index while no exclusion was made, FTSE Russell has said in its third quarter review.

Meanwhile, FTSE Russell made no changes to the Vietnam All-Share Index.

The latest inclusions brought the number of constituents in the FTSE Vietnam Index to 31. The changes will take effect after the close on September 20.

As of September 5, the FTSE Vietnam ETF had $295.17 million worth of assets under management. It has recorded a negative growth rate of 2.92% in NAV year to date and negative 15.63% over the past year.

Financials, real estate, industrials, and consumer staples are the sectors with the largest weightings of its portfolio.

The top components are Hoa Phat Group (15.07%), Vingroup (8.43%), Vinhomes (8.16%), Vietcombank (8.08%), Masan Group (7.93%), and Vinamilk (7.85%).

The FTSE Vietnam Index comprises Vietnamese blue chip companies listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange. They are the largest and most liquid companies that have sufficient foreign ownership availability. Review is conducted quarterly, with the largest component capped at 15%.

On September 13 (Vietnam time), the MarketVector Indexes will announce the review of the MarketVector Vietnam Local Index, the underlying index of the VNM ETF.
