Goertek Vina injects extra $20 mln into northern Vietnam plant
Goertek Technology Vina Company Limited, a subsidiary of Chinese electronics giant Goertek, plans to pour an additional over VND527 billion ($20 million) into its project in Vietnam's northern province of Bac Ninh.
According to its report for environment impact assessment renewal sent to local authorities, Goertek Vina is adjusting its electronic equipment, network device and multimedia audio product plant to meet rising global demand.

The expansion is expected to lift its total investment in the Bac Ninh facility to VND13.48 trillion ($511.4 million).
According to the report, the company will add nearly 19,000 square meters of land and increase annual camera production capacity by 20 million units, bringing total output to about 32.5 million units per year. The number of camera production lines will rise from eight to 21.
Overall capacity across the project will edge up to more than 3.01 billion products annually, from 2.99 billion previously, reflecting incremental growth across a broad product portfolio that includes electronics, plastic and metal components, and multimedia devices.
Goertek Vina, a key supplier in the global consumer electronics supply chain, has also expanded its product scope to include wireless transmission modules and charging cases for earphones, adding roughly 168,000 units of annual capacity.
In addition to core electronics, the filing highlights plans related to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), with production of certain drone models currently at 45,000 units per year and scope for further expansion.
The project footprint will increase from eight to nine locations, including a new site in Que Vo Industrial Park expansion zone. Total land use will rise to nearly 453,000 square meters, with additional factory space and infrastructure upgrades.
Goertek has invested about $1.3 billion in Vietnam through multiple entities as of end-2025. The latest expansion underscores a broader trend of global electronics suppliers deepening their manufacturing base in Vietnam as supply chains continue to diversify beyond China.
