Google sets up Vietnam entity in HCMC, to operate from April 2025
Google has confirmed that its Vietnamese entity, Google Vietnam Company Limited, will handle Google Ads tasks in Vietnam from April 1, succeeding Singapore-based Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd.
The move aims to improve its services for advertising customers in Vietnam and help the country’s digitalization progress.

Starting March 1, Ho Chi Minh City-based Google Vietnam will become the partner for Google Ads customers in Vietnam, instead of the Singapore-based entity, Google clarified.
As a result, Google Vietnam will directly manage invoices in Vietnam, including delivery of invoice in the local currency (Vietnamese dong) featuring a 10% VAT. Advertisers in Vietnam will have to fulfill its tax obligations via Google Vietnam, not via Google Asia Pacific.
Google stated the transition will not affect its service in Vietnam.
Vietnam collected nearly VND6.2 trillion ($252.6 million) from foreign internet-based service providers via a local tax payment portal in the first eight months of 2024, up 24% year-on-year.
Apple, Google, Meta (parent company of Facebook), Microsoft and Netflix were the largest taxpayers, according to the General Department of Taxation.
In July, Marc Woo, managing director, Vietnam, Google Asia Pacific, said Vietnam’s digital economy will grow by an "astonishing" 11 times in nearly a decade, reaching $220 billion by 2030, around half of its current GDP, and AI is expected to be a key driver of this growth.
Woo highlighted Vietnam is well positioned to take advantage of AI opportunities, with a dynamic startup community, tech-savvy young people accounting for 20% of the total population, and supportive policies from the government.
