HCMC bourse sees gaining stocks four times higher than losers
The VN-Index, which represents the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), rose 10.09 points, or 0.96%, to 1,058.29 on Thursday, with 314 gainers and 75 losers.
On the major bourse, nearly 476 million shares were traded for more than VND8.45 trillion ($356.69 million), down 14.33% from the previous session.

The VN30 index, which tracks the performance of 30 largest cap stocks, gained 11.92 points, with 26 tickers rising and only two declining. The banking group led the market gain with BID of BIDV up 2.27%, VPB of VPBank 1.74%, HDB of HDBank 3.93%, and TCB of Techcombank 1.82%.
Other blue chips like HPG of steel giant Hoa Phat, VIC of Vingroup, and VRE of Vincom Retail closed the session above their reference levels.
Notably, NVL of real estate developer Novaland expanded over 3% after seven consecutive losing sessions, including three at its floor price.
With positive investor sentiment, green covered almost all groups, including banking, securities, steel, oil and gas, chemical, seaport, real estate, garment, seafood, coal and construction.
Foreign investors continued to be net sellers to the tune of nearly VND112.17 billion ($4.73 million) on the HoSE. They mainly net sold STB of Sacombank, VIC, DXG of Dat Xanh Group, and DCM of Petrovietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer JSC; while net buying HDB, VNM of Vinamilk, HSG of steel maker Hoa Sen, and MSN of Masan Group.
The HNX-Index on the Hanoi bourse gained 2.87 points to 210.84, while the UpCOM-Index on the unlisted public company market rose 0.19 points to 79.66.
