Intel Corporation announced the appointment of Kenneth Tse as its Vietnam site general manager on Monday.

Tse is a 28-year Intel veteran who began his career in Intel as a process engineer in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since then, he has held various management positions in the U.S. and China before moving to Vietnam – which he has called home for the past 10 years.

He succeeds Kim Huat Ooi who will be retiring from Intel. Tse will be responsible for overseeing the operations of Intel Vietnam's factory, including building strategic relationships with communities and governments, and working with the local ecosystem.

Tse holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the University of California, Davis.

“We are very proud of the vital role Intel Vietnam plays within Intel's global network, and I am excited to lead this extraordinary site. This site is a cornerstone of our operations, and I am committed to maintaining the momentum and advancing our mission.

"We will continue to innovate and drive progress, striving to 'create the future of Intel and Vietnam'. This commitment underscores our dedication to excellence and our belief in the potential of Vietnam as a key player in the technology landscape,” said Tse.

Intel has a global network of factories. Intel Products Vietnam (IPV) is responsible for testing and assembling products and is the largest factory in this field within Intel's system.

Last year, IPV was responsible for manufacturing the 13th generation Raptor Lake and Meteor Lake processors, while accounting for over 50% of assembly and testing output. This information demonstrates the value that IPV brings to Intel's global supply chain, Phung Viet Thang, country manager, sales, marketing and communications group, Intel Vietnam told The Investor recently.

Intel has been operating in Vietnam for 17 years.
