Japan’s Meiko Electronics aims to build second PCB factory in northern Vietnam from Oct 2025
Japan-headquartered Meiko Electronics broke ground on a printed circuit board (PCB) factory in Vietnam’s northern province of Hoa Binh in April, and aims to start building a second factory within the project from October 2025.

Meiko Electronics also aims to churn out products from the first factory of the complex from October 2025, said Meiko Electronics president and CEO Yuichiro Naya.
Key products of the first factory include electronic circuits for peripheral devices, computers, electronic home appliances, audio-visual equipment, solar cells, microprocessor chips, and controllers.
The second factory will raise the project investment from $200 million to $500 million, employing 3,000 people and contributing VND200 billion ($7.96 million) to the state budget yearly from 2030.
According to a recent project report of Meiko Electronics, the project's investment has only reached $100 million.
The project has an annual capacity of designing 14,500 PCBs, equivalent to $15 million; and manufacturing-assembling PCBs and electronic items of 80,000 square meters, equivalent to 135 tons. The project is set to recruit 100 workers during construction and 650 during operation.
