Lego ready to launch Binh Duong factory in Aug 2024
Danish toymaker Lego has opened its office in Vietnam’s southern province of Binh Duong and is ready to recruit staff, in preparation for its factory’s official operation from August 2024.

Ed Lewin, vice president, government and public affairs of Lego made the statement at a meeting with Binh Duong authorities late last week. Besides, he urged the southern province to further support the construction license, which is not complete yet due to problems related to anti-fire design.
He also proposed Binh Duong province aid the factory’s deployment of solar power and connection with a 110kV power station.
In reply, Nguyen Van Loi, Party chief of Binh Duong's Party Committee, affirmed the province has completed 90% of all administrative procedures under its jurisdiction.
Binh Duong Chairman Vo Van Minh said anti-fire design was submitted to the Ministry of Public Security and is now waiting for approval.
Last November, Lego started the construction of its first carbon-neutral factory site worldwide, located in Binh Duong, with more than $1 billion in total investment and production set to start in 2024.
"Access to high-quality labor was also one of the reasons behind our decision to build a factory in Vietnam. We are building a fantastic workplace for our colleagues and are confident that we will be able to attract the talent needed. In fact, we have already begun to attend job fairs in the southern province of Binh Duong and have seen lots of strong interest and excitement from skilled potential employees," Preben Elnef, general manager of Lego Manufacturing Vietnam Co. Ltd., told to The Investor.
Vietnamese people spent VND1,860 billion ($79 million) last year on buying 24.97 million kids toys on Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, and Sendo, the most popular e-commerce sites in the country, according to a report of Metric.vn, a local e-commerce analyzer.
