The Vietnam Digital Awards, held annually since 2018, recognize organizations, businesses, and individuals that have made remarkable contributions to the country’s digital transformation.
This year, MBBank (MB) was recognized for its AI-powered App Protection solution (MB AI Appprotect), which safeguards customer transactions on the MBBank App, as well as for its end-to-end automation solutions for unsecured lending, and its data-driven technology that fully automates the credit limit renewal process for micro-SMEs (Autocredit MSME).
This marks the fourth consecutive year that MBBank has received an award at the Vietnam Digital Awards.
The App Protection solution, developed in-house by MBBank, protects users throughout their entire transaction journey - from login and eKYC verification to transaction execution.
The system can detect potential security risks, such as malware installation or device hijacking attempts, and automatically issues alerts and temporarily suspends transactions for verification.
This technology leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze user behavior and detect anomalies in real time, enabling early fraud prevention and ensuring the safety of customer assets and data.
According to MBBank, implementing this solution has helped reduce online fraud cases by over 85%, protecting tens of billions of VND (VND10 billion = $379,650) each month for its customers.

The App Protection system had previously won the award for “Innovative Digital Product – AI Application for Cyber Fraud Prevention” from the Ministry of Information and Communications, recognizing its effectiveness in securing digital transactions.
For corporate clients, MBBank has deployed a fully automated unsecured lending solution for micro-SMEs on its BIZ MBBank platform, enabling businesses to access financing entirely online - from registration and approval to contract signing and disbursement - without visiting a branch.
The system uses data models to pre-approve credit limits, allowing customers to complete loan applications through just a few online steps. Loan contracts are signed with CA Cloud digital signatures, and disbursements are processed automatically 24/7.
Customers can submit post-loan documents online, saving significant time and operational costs. The loan processing time has been cut from 10 days to just two days, reducing appraisal steps by 90% and eliminating manual approvals entirely.
At the same time, MBBank has applied automated technology and data analytics to fully digitize the unsecured lending process for micro-SMEs, allowing the system to screen, evaluate, and approve eligible customers automatically without manual intervention.
This innovation enhances the accuracy of credit assessments, minimizes errors, accelerates processing speed, and ensures compliance with internal regulations.
The time to process each application has been reduced from 10 days to one day, the required manpower has dropped from five people to one, and the rate of automatic disbursement has increased from 5% to 40%.
According to an MBBank representative, this award acknowledges the bank’s continuous efforts in digital transformation and its ability to integrate cutting-edge technology into financial operations.
Guided by its motto of “customer-centricity,” MBBank said it will continue to accelerate its journey toward building an intelligent digital bank that meets the evolving needs of users in the digital era.
