Google Wallet is a smart application exclusive to Android mobile devices which claims to offer a secure, easy-to-use mobile payment service by leveraging a new proprietary technology called Near Field Communication (NFC).

The Google Wallet enables customers to make contactless transactions by integrating Shinhan Visa international credit/debit card information for individuals/businesses. It allows customers to make payments easily, conveniently, and securely at most nationwide retails without a physical card, the bank said.

To use the service, customers must first add their credit/debit card to the Google Wallet app, unlock their mobile device and bring it close to the POS machine to complete the transaction.

Using Google Wallet allows for more secure payment than a traditional physical card, it is said. During the transaction, the customer's actual card number will be encrypted, helping safeguard the customer from security breaches.

Customers can install Google Wallet by following these steps: First, open the Google Wallet app or download it on Google Play. Second, sign in your Google account. Users will be prompted to sign in to their Google account the first time they open Google Wallet. If you do not have an account, you may create one right then.

Third, select an authentication technique such as fingerprint/PIN code/Irises. Fourth, select "Upload to wallet" and follow instructions to add Shinhan Visa card information to Google Wallet.
