Northern Vietnam province sets deadline for land clearance at The Trump Organization-related golf resort project
Hung Yen province's officials were ordered to approve land compensation plans related to the Khoai Chau golf, eco-tourism, and urban complex - a project linked to The Trump Organization - by the end of October.
That will help to expedite the delayed land clearance for the project, said Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Than at a meeting on Tuesday.
The complex will span more than 888.5 hectares across three communes: Chau Ninh (670 ha), Khoai Chau (208 ha), and Chi Minh (7 ha).

The total investment is estimated at nearly VND40 trillion ($1.53 billion), including VND4.1 trillion for compensation and resettlement.
The project is planned to operate for 50 years, with implementation scheduled from Q2/2025 to Q2/2029.
It will feature four subdivisions: a high-end eco-residential area with a golf course (for 3,500 residents), another eco-residential area with a nature-focused golf course (1,800 residents), a service-trade-urban area (29,700 residents), and a specialized green park area.
A key highlight is a 240-ha golf facility comprising two courses of 36 and 18 holes, respectively. The project also includes 7.3 hectares for social housing and 99 hectares for a thematic park.
This strategic project is part of a broader cooperation between Hung Yen Hospitality Services JSC, a subsidiary of Vietnamese developer Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation and The Trump Organization - a U.S.-based company owned by the family of President Donald Trump.
To accelerate the implementation, the provincial government has instructed local authorities and investors to speed up land clearance and resolve administrative obstacles. However, progress remains behind schedule.
Emphasizing the project’s importance to the province’s socio-economic development and international partnerships, Than requested stronger coordination, accountability, and compliance from all stakeholders.
To speed up the progress, he assigned the provincial Land Development Center to issue land recovery notices by October 6. Compensation plans for public land and pre-measured areas must be finalized by October 8, and full approval of agricultural land compensation must be completed within October. All legal procedures for other types of land must be promptly carried out.
Communes involved in the project will be held accountable for any delays, he noted.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is tasked with deploying qualified staff to assist in resolving technical and regulatory challenges, while the Department of Public Security will lead efforts to assess current land status, monitor local conditions, and prevent policy abuse or resistance to the project.
In September 2024, Hung Yen Hospitality Services and the Trump Organization announced a partnership to develop the complex, which officially broke ground in May 2025.
The complex, named Trump International Hung Yen, is the first Trump-branded project in Vietnam and is expected to become an iconic travel destination in the Southeast Asian country.
