Petrovietnam, US Kellogg Brown & Root, GE to cooperate in green fuel, digitalization
State-owned Petrovietnam will cooperate with American partners, Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) and GE Digital International LLC under General Electric (GE), in digitalization and green fuels.
Petrovietnam signed agreements with U.S. companies in New York on Monday (local time), within a roundtable between Vietnamese Party chief and State President To Lam and major U.S. businesses, part of the Vietnamese leader's working trip in the United States.

Petrovietnam and KBR signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on green technologies and sustainable fuel development, especially sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The cooperation aims to help the two firms in production of new and green fuels, such as SAF, green hydrogen, and green ammonia.
Petrovietnam expects the collaboration will help it approach new technologies and solutions, boosting its energy transition and carbon reduction as well as the progress in Vietnam.

Petrovietnam also signed with GE Digital International LLC an MoU on digitalization solutions for electricity and oil-gas sectors. The cooperation is expected to help Petrovietnam grasp opportunities in globalization movement and energy transition.
Prior to this linkup, Petrovietnam and GE Digital International LLC have cooperated in various power factories in Vietnam, including Nhon Trach 1, Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4, Song Hau 1, Long Phu 1, and Vung Ang 1.
In the first eight months of 2024, Petrovietnam’s crude oil exploitation reached 6.64 million tons, while the figures for its gas exploitation and electricity generation were 4.41 billion cubic meters and 19.23 billion kWh, respectively. The results exceeded its eight-month targets by 20-29%.
