Taiwan-backed developer Phu My Hung has partnered with Vietnamese education firm EQuest to develop a $40 million K-12 education complex at Hong Hac City urban project in the northern province of Bac Ninh.

The two companies signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Saturday to develop the education campus, which will include a kindergarten and a K-12 school with capacity for about 2,500 students upon completion.

The project will combine Vietnam’s national curriculum with the Cambridge pathway while integrating STEM, artificial intelligence, robotics, arts, and life skills into its academic programs.

The education complex will cover more than 22,000 square meters and be developed in two phases.

The first phase will comprise a three-story kindergarten and a five-story K-12 school on a site of nearly 11,000 square meters. It is scheduled to begin operations and enroll its first students in September 2028. The second phase will be implemented in 2031.

Truong Hoang Nam, CFO of EQuest, said the project extends the group’s strategic partnership with Phu My Hung as Equest currently operates the Canadian International School (CIS) and Sedbergh Vietnam in the Phu My Hung urban area in Ho Chi Minh City.

Hong Hac City is 198-hectare township project in Bac Ninh with total investment of $1.1 billion.

Founded in 1993, Phu My Hung is a joint venture between Tan Thuan Industrial Promotion Co. (IPC), which owns 30%, and Taiwan’s Phu My Hung Asia Holdings (formerly CT&D Group).

The firm, which has more than three decades of experience developing urban projects and is best known for the Phu My Hung township in HCMC, expanded into northern Vietnam in 2025 through a partnership with Japan’s Nomura Real Estate Development to develop Hong Hac City, a 198-hectare project worth $1.1 billion.
