President To Lam hosts official welcome ceremony for Russian President Putin
Vietnamese President To Lam hosted an official welcome ceremony for his Russian counterpart Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on Thursday.
Putin and his entourage arrived in Hanoi early morning the same day, starting a two-day state visit to Vietnam, at the invitation of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
President To Lam and President Putin inspect the Guard of Honor at the Presidential Palace.
The cannon salute is fired to welcome the Russian President.
President To Lam and President Putin step on the podium while military bands play the national anthems of both nations.
This is President Putin's fifth visit to the Southeast Asian country, which is one of his first stops since he was sworn in for a fifth term in early May this year.
This visit holds an extremely important significance, further deepening the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields, especially in the context that the two countries are striving to implement the joint statement on the comprehensive strategic partnership vision to 2030.
