PV Coating strives to complete pipe contract for Vietsovpetro oil field project
PV Coating, a subsidiary of state-owned Petrovietnam’s PV Gas, launched an emulation movement on October 26 to complete a pipe coating service contract for the Kinh Ngu Trang-Kinh Ngu Trang Nam field project invested by Vietnam-Russia joint venture Vietsovpetro.
As part of the Petrovietnam development plan, the project is a new step in the strategy of increasing oil and gas production from the Cuu Long and Nam Con Son basins, laying a premise for other potential projects in the near future.
This field cluster is expected to be put into commercial exploitation in early 2025, helping restore, maintain, and increase oil and gas production, as well as contributing to ensuring maritime security through oil and gas cooperation at the Cuu Long and Nam Con Son basins.

Under the contract, PV Coating is responsible for concrete weight coating on 12-inch pipes with a total length of more than 44 kilometers, and anti-corrosion and solid Polyurethane (SPU) coating for risers and bends within 150 days. This work is expected to be completed by the end of April 2024. This is one of the important tasks in PV Coating's 2023 production and business plan.
In response to the emulation movement, all units and employees of PV Coating will strengthen solidarity, raise their sense of responsibility, and exert every effort to fulfill the set goals: ensuring safety, preventing accidents and incidents affecting people, equipment and the environment; and ensuring quality and progress to hand over finished pipes to the investor in line with the committed timeline. PV Coating will strive to complete the coating of 1,700 pipes, equivalent to 20.04 kilometers, this year.
PV Coating’s trade and youth unions at all levels also committed to coordinating with the company’s leadership to provide the best conditions for workers, and regularly encourage and support them to come up with initiatives and solutions to fix arising problems and complete assigned tasks as soon as possible.
The emulation movement is very important as it will help the investor complete the Kinh Ngu Trang-Kinh Ngu Trang Nam project on schedule, thus contributing to implementing Petrovietnam's strategy; fulfilling PV Coating’s production and business targets and tasks in 2023; promoting the reputation and image of the company to partners and customers, while increasing cooperation opportunities in pipe coating and other services in the future. This is also an opportunity for PV Coating to practice PV GAS's motto "Solidarity-Innovation-Professionalism-Action".
