Real estate stocks major driving force of VN-Index gain
The VN-Index, which represents the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), expanded 4.73 points, or 0.4%, to close at 1,173.13 on Monday, thanks to the rally of real estate stocks.
The benchmark index marked its seventh consecutive gaining session.
The major bourse saw 260 tickers gaining and 171 losing, with over 914 million shares changing hands for VND18.6 trillion ($786.8 million), a decrease of VND2.3 trillion ($97.26 million) from the previous session last Friday.

The VN30 index, which tracks the performance of 30 largest cap stocks, went up 3.99 points to 1,164.58, with 14 gainers and 13 losers.
The real estate group was the focus of attention as many stocks increased strongly. The three stocks of the Vingroup ecosystem namely VHM of giant Vinhomes, VIC of Vingroup and VRE of Vincom Retail took the lead with respective gains of 4.61%, 2.92%, and 2.32%.
Other gainers included NVL of Novaland 1.32%, KDH of Khang Dien Holding 3.17%, DIG of DIG Corp. 3.35%, PDR of Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corp. 3.17%, Dat Xanh Group 3.49%, and HDG of Ha Do Group 2.53%
Notably, DXS of Dat Xanh Services, QCG of Quoc Cuong Gia Lai Corp., LDG of LDG Investment, and HTN of Hung Thinh Incons hit their ceiling prices.
Banking, securities, retail, manufacturing tickers saw a divergence while aviation codes closed in the red.
Foreign investors turned net buyers on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) to the tune of over VND511 billion ($21.6 million). They mainly net purchased VHM, SSI of Saigon Securities, VNM of Vinamilk, HCM of Ho Chi Minh City Securities, VIC, and VCB of Vietcombank.
The HNX-Index on the Hanoi bourse rose 0.76 points to 230.95, while the UpCOM-Index on the unlisted public company market gained 0.52 points to 86.81.
