Samsung-Apple supplier Goertek to run $280 mln project in northern Vietnam next quarter
Goertek Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd., a major supplier to Samsung and Apple, plans to start operating a $280 million investment project in the northern province of Bac Ninh next quarter.
The company, a subsidiary of Chinese electronics giant Goertek, received an investment certificate for the project last month, according to a draft environmental impact report prepared by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
It will lease ready-built-factory facilities owned by Goertek Smart Technology Vina Co. Ltd. to start production..
The facilities, covering 17.6 hectares, are located at the Nam Son-Hap Linh Industrial Park.

The company said it will start upgrading the facilities and recruiting additional workforce for the project this quarter and kick off official production the next.
The plant will have an annual capacity of 52 million items – 30 million earphones, two million earphone chargers, five million smartwatches, five million virtual reality (VR) headsets and augmented reality (AR) headsets, and 10 million circuit boards.
In October 2023, Goertek had said it planned to triple or quadruple its investments in the northern province of Bac Ninh over the next five to 10 years.
Goertek has so far invested in three projects in Bac Ninh with a total registered capital of $905 million – one carried out by Goertek Vina and two by Goertek Technology Vina Co. Ltd.
Bac Ninh accounts for 20% of Goertek’s global investment, co-founder and chairman Jiang Bin had said then.
Goertek Smart Technology Vina Co.,Ltd., a sister company of Goertek Electronics Vietnam, runs a 51.5-hectare project with an annual output of more than 600 million items, including 40 million earphones, 50 million smartphone speakers, 20 million speakers-microphones-receivers-speaker modules, and 40 million printed circuit boards.
