Shopee leads fashion sales on e-commerce platforms in 2022

The revenue of fashion products on e-commerce platforms in Vietnam reached VND20.87 trillion ($888 million) in 2022, up 47.8% year-on-year, of which Singapore-headquartered Shopee accounted for 87.47%.

According to Metric.vn, a local e-commerce analyzer, the other notable e-commerce platform was Singapore-headquartered Lazada with 11.94%, followed by Tiki and Sendo with 0.37% and 0.21%, respectively.

Per the report, 125,742 sellers on those four major platforms delivered 210.5 million fashion products last year, amid the country’s post-Covid-19 recovery. It added the highest sale revenue of about VND2.2 trillion ($93.48 million) was recorded in January, amid consumer preparation for the Lunar New Year holiday.

Products priced at VND100,000-200,000 ($8.5) and VND200,000-500,000 ($21.24) recorded the highest revenues last year, at nearly VND8 trillion ($339.9 million) and VND6 trillion ($254.9 million), respectively.

Other top segments were VND50,000-100,000 ($4.25) with a revenue of about VND4.5 trillion ($191.2 million) and VND1 million ($42.49) with about VND1 trillion ($42.49 million).

T-shirts were the best-selling product with a total revenue of VND5.8 trillion ($246.4 million), or 28.1% of the total, followed by dresses, female trousers, female underwear, coats, skirts, and others.

Levents, Teelab, and Outerity were the most popular brands in the last 30 days of 2022 with 586,000; 477,000; and 407,000 searches, respectively. They were followed by Coolmate and The Bad God with 185,000 and 169,000 searches, respectively. Notably, these are all streetwear brands.
