Siemens, Vietnam’s National Innovation Center to cooperate in smart factory
The National Innovation Center (NIC), under Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment, and German technology giant Siemens signed a cooperation deal on Friday, focusing on smart factory in the Southeast Asian nation.
Per the signed memorandum of understanding (MoU), Siemens will sponsor 100 copyrights of software for designing, assembling, and simulating for smart factory training, featuring semiconductor design training programs.

The collaboration aims to help firms seeking innovation and approaching the global market, and to connect Vietnamese businesses with Siemens’s supporting packages.
As part of the NIC’s 2030 program on semiconductor workforce, the agency will connect businesses and research units with Siemens to build training programs, especially semiconductor engineer training programs.
The Vietnamese government plans to train between 50,000 and 100,000 high-skilled workers in the 2025-2030 period as Vietnam braces for a fresh investment wave to sweep its semiconductor industry, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said in October 2023.
He said the plan was part of broader efforts to develop a skilled workforce in tandem with fostering research and development, technology application, innovation and entrepreneurship.
