Six electric vehicle models introduced at Vietnam Motor Show
The Vietnam Motor Show 2022 that opened in Ho Chi Minh City Wednesday has six electric vehicle (EV) models among more than 120 on display.
The EVs on show at the five-day event are from Audi (E-Tron - crossover), Mercedes (EQS), Lexus (Lexus LF-Z), Toyota (Toyota bZ4X), and MG (Marvel R Electric and MG4 EV).
Dat Bike, a HCMC-based electric motorcycle producer, has also joined the show jointly held by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) and the Vehicles Importers Vietnam Association (VIVA).

The motor show features cars from 14 renowned brands: Audi, Brabus, Honda, Jeep, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Morgan, MG, RAM, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.
Like the six EV models, some trucks and large-sized vehicles are also making their first appearance.
Vietnamese conglomerate Thaco, which makes and distributes Kia, Mazda, and Peugeot cars for the Vietnamese market, Vietnamese EV maker VinFast and Hyundai Thanh Cong are not participating in the show.
VAMA members, which do not include VinFast and Hyundai, sold 296,403 vehicles in the first nine months of the year, up nearly 57% year-on-year.
Of this, 231,698 units were passenger vehicles; 60,495 commercial vehicles; and 4,210 special-purpose vehicles.
