Amata, a leading Thai industrial real estate developer, plans to invest in an industrial park project in Phu Tho province, following a deal signed in May.

The project, known as Doan Hung Industrial Park, is slated to be developed into a smart city between 2025 and 2030, with the first phase covering 300-500 hectares in Tay Coc and Doan Hung communes, Amata Vietnam CEO Somhatai Panichewa said at a meeting with provincial Party chief Dang Xuan Phong on Thursday.

The park will target automotive manufacturing, supporting industries, high-tech production, and clean industries powered by renewable energy, she added.

During the talks, both sides discussed cooperation opportunities in electronics, telecommunications, semiconductors, AI, mechanical engineering, and automotive assembly, along with infrastructure development for industrial parks.

The provincial authorities pledged to provide a favorable investment environment, expedite project approvals, and support Amata in addressing any challenges that may arise during construction and operation.

Amata has been present in Vietnam for nearly three decades, with more than 2,500 hectares of industrial land under development, including the 700-hectare Amata Bien Hoa project (Dong Nai province), the 1,265-hectare Long Thanh site (Dong Nai province), and a 700-hectare project in Ha Long (Quang Ninh province).

Phu Tho, Hoa Binh, and Vinh Phuc provinces were recently merged to form the new Phu Tho. The province currently has 32 planned industrial parks, of which 16 are operational.
