Thailand’s Central Retail opens $11 mln GO! hypermarket in central Vietnam
Thailand’s leading retailer Central Retail opened a hypermarket per its GO! model in Vietnam’s south-central province of Ninh Thuan on Wednesday.
With an investment of VND276 billion ($10.9 million), the facility covers 1.2 hectares in the province. It is set to promote the socioeconomic development of Ninh Thuan and neighboring localities by creating over 600 direct and indirect jobs.
GO! Ninh Thuan is the first mall of its kind in the province, exemplifying "Eat–Play–Shop–Learn and Sustain" concept.

Central Retail earned a revenue of THB37.99 billion ($1.09 billion) in Vietnam in the first nine months of 2024, up 0.9% year-on-year.
In its Jan-Sept performance review, Central Retail said its revenue in Q3/2024 fell 2% year-on-year due to the impact of floods in the northern region (aftermath of super typhoon Yagi) and stagnant domestic purchasing power.
Central Retail said the Jan-Sept revenue in Vietnam included THB83 million ($2.4 million) from the fashion sector, down 15% year-on-year; THB33,161 million ($951.28 million) from the food product sector, up 4.2%; and THB4,747 million ($136.18 million) from the hardline sector, down 17%.
