Thailand’s Central Retail opens $13 mln mall in Ha Nam province, 40th in Vietnam
Thailand’s leading retailer Central Retail opened a mall under its GO! brand in the northern province of Ha Nam on Saturday, its 40th facility in Vietnam.
The 1.4-hectare mall has an investment of VND309 billion ($12.6 million). Construction of the mall was kicked off in July 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ha Nam Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Vuong said that the facility demonstrated Central Retail’s high confidence in the province’s investment environment.
The mall can boost retailing activities in the province, especially for farm produce, and provide many jobs to local people, he added.
Meanwhile, Central Retail Vietnam CEO Olivier Langlet highlighted the retailer’s efforts to modernize the retail sector, especially food supply chains, in the province.
At the event, GO! Ha Nam delivered 500 gift sets of essential items to victims of super typhoon Yagi in the province.
Ha Nam is one of manufacturing centers in northern Vietnam, together with Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, and Thai Nguyen.
Thai giant Central Retail posted H1/2024 revenues of THB26,448 million ($774 million) in Vietnam, up 2.2% year-on-year.
According to the firm’s financial statements, this included THB23,024 million ($673.8 million) from food products, THB61 million ($1.8 million) from fashion products, and THB3,363 million ($98.4 million) from hardline products such as home appliances and electronic items.
While revenue from fashion and hardline products fell 5.7% and 16.3% year-on-year, respectively, that of food products rose 5.6%.
