WHA Industrial Development, a leading Thai firm, plans to develop a 300-hectare industrial park called Giang Quang Thinh in the central province of Thanh Hoa.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the project was signed Wednesday by the firm’s chairperson and CEO, Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, and Thanh Hoa Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Thi.

At the meeting, Jarukornsakul highlighted Thanh Hoa authorities’ support for WHA’s projects and said the province’s rapid growth had made it an attractive investment destination for global businesses.

She urged provincial and central authorities to facilitate progress of WHA Smart Technology, also known as Phu Quy Industrial Park.

The 178-hectare facility, with an investment of VND1.29 trillion ($52.5 million), was initiated in December 2020 with WHA and the provincial management board of industrial parks signing an MoU for the project.

In December 2023, the provincial Party Committee approved the project and WHA has since submitted its application for an investment certificate.

Thi pledged the best facilitation for WHA’s projects towards their earliest implementation.

WHA ,which entered Vietnam in 2017, has one operational facility – WHA Industrial Park in Nghe An province, which neighbors Thanh Hoa. The industrial park has attracted two major investments from Foxconn and Sunny Optical, covering 40 hectares and 56 hectares, respectively.
