The Investor to hold workshop on investment opportunities in new context
The Investor will organize a workshop titled "Investment Opportunities in the New Context" in Hanoi on Wednesday next week (March 19).

The workshop aims to provide practical information and data to help investors and businesses make investment decisions. It will also serve as a forum for policymakers and regulators to hear opinions and recommendations of the business community.
The event is expected to attract representatives from ministries, experts, as well as leaders of banks, securities companies, and foreign/domestic businesses.
The National Assembly last month set the GDP growth target of "at least 8%" for 2025. This year is the final year for the 2021-2025 socio-economic development plan and marks the start of a new development era for the country.
Achieving an 8% economic expansion in 2025 will lay a solid foundation for double-digit growth rates in the years to come, the legislature stated.
The government's efforts and "breakthrough" solutions will open up unprecedented business opportunities in the sectors related to public investment, real estate, securities, gold, and digital currencies.
The Politburo recently issued a resolution which identifies the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as "the most important breakthroughs" and "the backbone" of the country's modernization, helping to turn the country into a developed, high-income country by 2045.
The government plans to allocate nearly VND10 trillion ($392 million) to implement the resolution, with an aim to position Vietnam among the top 3 in Southeast Asia and the top 50 worldwide for digital competitiveness and e-government development index by 2030.
The resolution also seeks to place Vietnam among the top 3 Southeast Asian nations for AI research and development.
Most recently, the government instructed ministries, agencies and localities to cut at least 30% of administrative procedure processing times, reduce business costs (compliance costs) by at least 30%, eliminate 30% of unnecessary business conditions, and digitize business-related procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
However, globally, trade wars are intensifying, more protectionist measures are being introduced, and strategic competition among major powers is becoming fiercer. With international trade nearly doubling the GDP size, the country faces challenges in maintaining low interest rates to support growth while ensuring macroeconomic stability and key economic balances.
Domestically, the streamlining of the administrative apparatus offers hopes for greater operational efficiency and budget savings, but it also raises concerns about potential disruptions.
In this new context, investors and businesses must identify, evaluate and forecast the challenges and opportunities to develop strategies and make suitable decisions. The workshop aims to support them in this regard.
