The Investor's parent entity VAFIE attains Vietnam Business Forum membership
Vietnam's Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises (VAFIE), the parent entity of The Investor, has joined the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) Consortium as an associate member.
VAFIE's expertise in the foreign investment sector “will greatly enhance our collaborative efforts to drive economic growth and development,” the VBF said in a Wednesday statement.
The association’s participation also aligns with the VBF’s mission to foster dialogue between the private sector and the Vietnamese government, it added.
The VBF umbrella now consists of six consortium members and nine associate members comprising local and foreign business chambers and associations. The forum strives to connect different business communities in Vietnam towards ensuring delivery of collective messages to the government.
VAFIE and VBF met last week to discuss the former’s participation in the consortium. The VBF delegation included co-chairman Michael Nguyen, also vice chairman of the AmCham and board member David John Whitehead, also an AusCham board member.
The VBF delegation expressed the hope that VAFIE’s participation would help the forum make recommendations on building Vietnam’s legal framework.
Nguyen Anh Tuan, VAFIE standing vice chairman, said the association would make the best recommendations to assist VBF in promoting updates to the country’s policies.
He also highlighted the advantage of VAFIE’s publication, The Investor (theinvestor.vn), and its sister site in Vietnamese nhadautu.vn, which carry reports on Vietnam’s business environment in a fair and timely manner.
