Third Tan Son Nhat airport terminal construction to kick off in May

Construction on the $475 million third terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City is set to start in May 2022, according to the project investor Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
However, the project is now awaiting site handover from the HCMC administration and Ministry of National Defense before groundbreaking occurs.
The land handover is very critical so as construction could commence in May and the project could be completed within 37 months, in line with the Prime Minister’s decision, ACV stated.
Once operational, the 16.37-hectare Terminal T3 will be able to serve up to 20 million passengers annually, raising the airport's total capacity to 50 million.
The project is expected to ease traffic density at the airport, and spur economic and tourism growth in HCMC and other southern cities.
Tan Son Nhat is Vietnam's largest airport. Traffic at this airport is currently 30 higher than its design capacity.
