Tupperware Vietnam to cease operations on December 31
Tupperware Vietnam has announced that it will officially cease operations by the end of this year and already stopped supplying goods to its dealers.
Do Linh Trang, former general director of Tupperware Vietnam Co., Ltd., shared a farewell message on her personal page titled "Goodbye from Tupperware Vietnam” on Friday. In her post, she expressed gratitude to customers, marking the end of Tupperware's 11-year journey in Vietnam.

Previously, multiple dealers reported receiving emails confirming the company’s decision to cease operations by Friday. The supply of goods to dealers has already been discontinued.
In late September, Tupperware filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. after multiple warnings about its ability to sustain operations since 2020. Earlier in June, the company announced plans to close its sole U.S. factory and lay off nearly 150 employees.
The bankruptcy filing followed months of negotiations with creditors over more than $700 million in debt. While creditors granted the company additional time to address the loans, Tupperware’s business continued to decline.
Experts attribute the company’s troubles to financial mismanagement, the waning relevance of its direct-selling model in the e-commerce era, and the rise of lower-cost competitors.
"Over the past several years, the company’s financial performance has been severely impacted by a challenging macroeconomic environment," said Laurie Goldman, CEO of Tupperware, in a press release.
In October, after declaring bankruptcy, Tupperware agreed to sell its business to creditors for $23.5 million in cash, in addition to writing off more than $63 million in debt. This deal also canceled plans to auction off the company’s assets on the open market.
Tupperware Vietnam began operations in June 2013 under the leadership of Indonesian national Eppy Rumondang Simamora. In October 2016, Do Linh Trang became its general director. This role was later transferred to Australian citizen Baik Seung Ho in August 2023.
The company opened its first store in October 2016. Over six years, Tupperware Vietnam grew to operate approximately 250 stores across nearly 50 provinces and cities, offering products such as plastic food containers, water bottles, water filters, pots, and pans.
Despite its initial success, the American household appliance brand is now preparing to leave the Vietnamese market, marking the end of an era for Tupperware in the region.
