Turkish firm-led consortium meets criteria to build Long Thanh airport terminal
Among three consortiums registering to build the terminal for the to-be-built mega Long Thanh airport, the one led by Turkish conglomerate IC Ictas is the only one meeting all the technical requirements.
State-run Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the investor of the project, has released the information, adding that the consortium, called Vietur, will have to join the second bidding round for financial details soon, as the only candidate.

The Long Thanh International Airport is a mega project with a total investment of VND336.63 trillion ($14.12 billion) divided into three phases. The first phase, worth VND110 trillion, will consist of a runway, terminal and auxiliary facilities that can serve 25 million passengers per year. The project kicked off in 2021 and is expected to open in 2025.
The terminal is the largest package of the first phase, with an investment of VND35.23 trillion ($1.49 billion). It is expected to be completed in 33 months.
Dong Nai province completed the site clearance of 2,500 hectares for the first phase of the project and delivered the land for construction units in July. Provincial authorities expect to complete the remaining site clearance of over 2,500 hectares for other phases soon.
The airport in the southern province of Dong Nai will be the nation’s biggest when complete and will reduce overload at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.
