Vietjet launches Hanoi-Sydney route, its 7th Vietnam-Australia connection
Vietnamese budget carrier Vietjet launched its first commercial passenger flight from Hanoi to Sydney on Friday, marking its seventh route to the “land down under”.
With two return flights every Wednesday and Saturday, the Sydney-Hanoi route is operated by the wide-body Airbus A330.
Three days ago, the carrier launched a regular service connecting Hanoi with Melbourne, with two round trips on Tuesdays and Saturdays, also using the A330 aircraft.
The other five routes operated by Vietjet between Vietnam and Australia are those between Ho Chi Minh City and Australia's five largest cities Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.

Hanoi is one of the most popular travel destinations in Vietnam, famous for its charming natural landscapes, proud history, diverse cuisine, and the renowned hospitality of its people.
Meanwhile, Sydney, the capital of New South Wales and a leading economic center in Australia, is a bustling port city famous for its many beaches, beautiful architecture, and cultural diversity.
Vietnam and Australia upgraded their bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2024 during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Canberra.
Bilateral trade reached $13.8 billion in 2023, making Australia Vietnam’s seventh-largest trade partner, while Vietnam ranks 10th on Australia's list.
