Vietjet, Satair sign multi-year agreement for integrated material services

Vietjet Air and Satair, an Airbus services company, on Tuesday signed a multi-year agreement for the latter's Integrated Material Services (IMS), a comprehensive material solution that will support the former's entire Airbus A320 and A330 fleet.

Under the agreement, Satair will provide consignment stock and pooling support for expendables specific to Vietjet’s A320 and A330 fleet.

The tailored service will allow Vietjet to ensure material availability with a defined performance level, providing cost savings to boost cash flow and reduce capital expenditure.

Paul Lochab, CCO of Satair, said: “By optimizing costs and freeing upresources, IMS allows maintenance and engineering teams to concentrate on critical aspects of their operations.”

Nguyen Duc Thinh, Vietjet vice president, said: “As Vietjet is the largest Airbus aircraft operator in Vietnam, this agreement will continue to secure our efficient and robust material operations while reducing overall maintenance costs, supporting our active fleet and global flight network expansion. The agreement also allows us to further enhance our flight services and provide moreaffordable air travel for our passengers.”

Satair’s IMS product offering is an end-to-end supply chain solution that includes planning, sourcing, purchasing, logistics, and inventory management; covering all expendables and consumables required in the typical aircraft maintenance lifecycle.

The airline continues to expand its modern, fuel-efficient Airbus fleet as a part of its global expansion strategy and sustainable growth, the carrier said in its release.

Vietnamese low-cost airline Vietjet is set to receive first Boeing 737 Max aircraft of its order for 200 units from July. A Boeing delegation, led by country director of Boeing Vietnam Michael Nguyen, made the statement at a meeting on February 12 with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
