Vietnam automobile sales rise 43% from Jan-Nov
The total sales of Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) members, which do not include VinFast and Hyundai, increased 43.5% year-on-year to 369,334 in the first 11 months of the year.
They included 289,678 passenger cars, up 63% year-on-year; 74,953 commercial vehicles, up 0.3%; and 4,703 special-purpose vehicles, down 9%.
In the 11-month period, the number of completely knocked down (CKD) automobiles hit 208,822, up 41%; and that of completely-built-up (CBU) cars reached 160,512, up 46%.

In the first 11 months of the year, Toyota was the best seller with 81,491 units, or 24.9% of the total; followed by Mitsubishi with 36,805 (11.2%); KIA and Mazda cars made-by-domestic firm Thaco with 57,784 and 33,552 (17.6% and 10.2%), respectively.
Other top players were Honda with 28,323 (8.6%), and Ford with 24,036 (7.3%).
In November, VAMA's automobile sales reached 31,186, down 14% year-on-year and 1% versus October. They included 25,251 passenger cars, down 7%; 5,849 commercial vehicles, down 35%; and 86 special-purpose vehicles, a 73% decline.
