Vietnam carries high potential market for water purifying systems: Taiwanese exec
Taiwanese firm Mbranfiltra is seeking Vietnamese partners to exploit the high potential it sees for its products, including one it has just introduced in the Vietnamese market – a portable water bottle with a filter.
Mbranfiltra CEO Hsu Hsien Chang said on Thursday that his company’s water bottle features a filter bag using hollow fiber membrane technology, providing superior water filtration. The product is environmentally friendly, has fast filtration speed and low carbon emissions, he said.
The Taiwanese firm’s products were among a range of water purification systems and products displayed at the Vietwater 2024 exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City.
With a population of 100 million people increasingly concerned about health, the Vietnamese market holds great potential for his company’s products, Hsu said.
Mbranfiltra’s other offerings include household water filters, industrial filtration systems and laboratory purification and separation solutions.
Filtrafine, another Taiwanese water purifier manufacturer, operates a factory in an industrial park in Binh Duong province. A company representative said that their products are already being consumed in Vietnam.
Several other Taiwanese firms participated in the exhibition.
Ever-clear introduced its technology for efficient wastewater treatment and water reuse. This innovative membrane technology “offers a compact, modular solution minimizing environmental impact while maximizing resource utilization,” a company rep said.
Assoma showcased a range of high-efficiency pumps designed to significantly reduce energy consumption and operating costs in water management systems.
Equipped with variable frequency drives (VFDs), intelligent controls and other features, Assoma’s pumps can deliver optimal performance and substantial energy savings, aligning with Vietnam's focus on energy efficiency and environmental protection, the company said.
FENRi, a pioneer in AIoT water management, presented its suite of smart solutions. “Leveraging AI, IoT and cloud computing, FENRi enables optimized water usage, predicts water quality issues, and enhances decision-making for sustainable practices,” a company rep said.
The company’s real-time monitoring systems and AI-powered predictive models empower industries and municipalities to achieve substantial water savings and reduce operational costs, the rep added.
Hank Han, director general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCMC, emphasized the strong partnership between Taiwan and Vietnam in the water sector, highlighting the former’s extensive experience and advanced technologies. He expressed confidence that Taiwanese companies can significantly contribute to Vietnam's sustainable water management goals.
He said: “Taiwan’s industry provides high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet Vietnam's needs. Our energy-efficient equipment and smart water management systems can effectively support Vietnam's water sustainability goals. As we move forward, the promise of collaboration between Taiwan and Vietnam in the water treatment sector is bright. Together, we can pave the way for innovative solutions that benefit our communities and the environment.”
