Ashley McAleese has been appointed general director of Nui Phao Mining Company, a subsidiary of Masan Group, effective from January 1, 2025.

He will be in this position from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2029, according to a statement from the company's board of members.

Nui Phao Mining Company operates the Nui Phao polymetallic mine which lies across the communes of Hung Son, Ha Thuong, and Tan Linh in Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province.

The company is fully owned by Masan High-Tech Materials Company (UpCOM: MSR), a member of Masan Group.

Born in 1980, McAleese is an Australian national. In addition to his new role at Nui Phao and MSR, he is general director and authorized representative of Masan Tungsten Company Limited, overseeing a capital contribution of VND971.5 billion ($38.3 million), or a 29.99% stake.

Masan Tungsten is another subsidiary of MSR. McAleese currently does not hold any shares in MSR.

In November, MSR’s board of directors approved the resignation of Craig Richard Bradshaw as a board member. Concurrently, it appointed McAleese as a board member for the 2021-2026 term.

This leadership change reflects MSR’s strategic focus on strengthening its management team to support continued growth and development in the mining and materials sector.
