Vietnam's second game of the 31st SEA Games against the U23 Philippines ended goalless, despite numerous scoring chances.

Dominating the game with 72% of ball possession and five times as many shots as its opponent, Vietnam was unable to win the second match in Group A of men’s football.

While the duo both have four points after two matches, U23 Vietnam trails the Philippines team due to lower goal difference.

The Philippines was delighted with the result. Goalkeeper Quincy Kammeraad collapsed on the field to pray after the final whistle.

Several Philippine players celebrated after they drew against the defending champion, maintaining their team’s lead in Group A.

The result has no bearing on U23 Vietnam's hopes of reaching the semi-finals, since they have two easier opponents ahead, U23 Myanmar and U23 Timor-Leste.

After this match, U23 Vietnam will have a five-day break before facing U23 Myanmar on May 13.

Vietnam defeated Indonesia in the first SEA Games match on Friday, with a 3-0 win.
