Vietnam retail giant Mobile World generates $16.4 mln daily in Jan-Feb
Mobile World Investment Corporation (MWG), a leading retailer in Vietnam, reported a revenue of VND24.52 trillion ($959.5 million) in the first two months of the year, or VND416 billion ($16.44 million) per day.

The two-month revenue represented a 13.5% increase compared to the same period last year and 16% of the year's target (VND150 trillion or $5.87 billion), according to the company.
Of the total, the Mobile World (mobile phones) and Dien May Xanh (electric and electronic home appliances) chains contributed nearly VND17 trillion ($665.17 million), an increase of more than 13% from the 2024 Lunar New Year season.
Online revenue in the first two months reached about VND1 trillion ($39.13 million), accounting for 6% of the total of the two chains. MWG attributed this growth to the reduction of 221 stores compared to the end of February 2024.
This indicated that the sales per existing store continued to grow steadily, and operational efficiency was improved by streamlining operations and optimizing costs. As of February 2024, the Mobile World chain had 1,018 stores (including Topzone), and the Dien May Xanh chain 2,027 stores.
In addition, a well-prepared and synchronized business strategy was implemented, ranging from diversifying product portfolios to providing customers with a comprehensive shopping experience and offering optimal financial solutions such as installment plans ("buy now, pay later"). This strategy helped both chains record positive results in maintaining growth and expanding market share.
Among product categories, the information and communication technology (ICT) segment played a key role in driving growth. Despite the slow recovery of the overall retail market for technology products, sales of mobile phones, tablets, and laptops surged over 20% compared to the same period last year.
According to MWG, starting from March 2025, the company has begun preparations for the peak season in the air conditioner category, including signing strategic partnerships with major suppliers to ensure a steady supply and promptly meet the increasing demand.
For the Bach Hoa Xanh food and consumer goods retail chain, MWG opened 94 new stores, bringing the total number to 1,864. More than 50% of the new outlets are located in central provinces. In the coming months, the company will continue to expand the system under the set plan.
After the first two months, the revenue of the Bac Hoa Xanh chain reached over VND7 trillion ($273.89 million), a 16% rise year-on-year. The growth was driven by both fresh food and FMCGs. Both product categories maintained double-digit expansion compared to the previous year.
The An Khang pharmacy chain maintained 326 pharmacies, unchanged from the end of 2024. Similarly, Avakids - a retail chain of mother and baby products - had 62 stores.
The EraBlue electronics chain in Indonesia added eight new stores in the first two months, bringing the total to 95.
Recently, MWG was one of the prominent Vietnamese businesses accompanying a high-ranking Vietnamese government delegation at the Vietnam-Indonesia High-Level Economic Forum. At this event, MWG and Indonesia’s Erajaya signed an MoU for an investment of $50 million to promote the development of the EraBlue chain in the coming years.
On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), MWG closed Friday at VND60,000 ($2.08) per share.
