According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the chemical sector is currently contributing some 10-11% to the country's industrial GDP and employing nearly 10% of the industrial workforce. The sector's labour productivity is 1.36 times higher than the industry average thanks to automation adoption.

Vinachem general director Nguyen Huu Tu laid stress on the significance of safe production and digital technology to sustainable development, stating the corporation is restructuring its production technologies, controlling emissions, promoting energy efficiency, and gradually replacing traditional raw chemical materials with recycled and renewable alternatives.

Chairman of the group Phung Quang Hiep said that green transition is an inevitable development path for the industry, adding Vinachem pledges to apply advanced technologies, reduce environmental impacts, and improve product quality to serve the people.

At the event, Vinachem released a detailed action plan to realize its commitment to greening the chemical sector in tandem with boosting digital transformation and sustainable development.

This is considered a turning point for it to accelerate the application of Industry 4.0 scientific and technological advances to improve production and business efficiency and protect the environment.

The corporation also introduced a new line of environmentally-friendly consumer products manufactured to international standards by its eight member units across three main categories of household chemical products, batteries, and tires.

The launch of the e-commerce platform and consumption products not only facilitate consumers’ access to Vinachem’s products but also affirms its digital transformation determination.

VinachemMart will directly connect manufacturers with consumers, eliminating intermediaries to deliver reasonable prices and convenient experiences to customers, Tu affirmed.

Deputy Minister of Finance Ho Sy Hung praised Vinachem's green and digital transformation action plan, emphasizing that VinachemMart will expand market access channels while building a large data platform for the industry towards achieving transparent governance, smart connectivity, and enhanced distribution efficiency for domestic and regional chemical products, helping establish the reputation and position of Vietnamese brands in the digital economy.

The Ministry of Finance will continue refining mechanisms to encourage investment in low-emission sectors. It will provide tax and credit incentives for the businesses innovating technologies and investing in environmentally friendly production.

It will also promote sustainable bond and carbon credit markets while enhancing public-private partnerships in innovation and digital transformation, he underscored.

As the leading enterprise in Vietnam's chemical industry, Vinachem operates a nationwide production and business network across multiple chemical sectors, including fertiliser and plant protection product manufacturing, mineral exploitation and processing, rubber processing, and basic chemicals manufacturing.

With 34 technologically self-sufficient units producing diverse high-quality industrial and consumer chemical products, Vinachem satisfies domestic market demand and exports to over 70 countries and territories worldwide. It records annual revenue exceeding VND50 trillion ($1.9 billion) and contributes more than VND2 trillion to the state budget each year.
