Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast launched its first store in Canada’s Vancouver on Tuesday and will join the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show 2023 on April 21-23.

The Vancouver store, VinFast’s eighth one in Canada, is at the Park Royal Shopping Center. Initially, VinFast Park Royal displays two electric SUV models, the VF 8 and VF 9, while two smaller EVs VF 6 and VF 7 will come later.

“Vancouver is a key market for VinFast as one of Canada’s major cities with good infrastructure, many policies to encourage electrification, and of course its people’s acceptance of electric vehicles,” said Nguyen Van Anh, CEO of VinFast North America.

“With the presence of VinFast Park Royal, we have officially established our retail and service system in Canada’s three largest cities – Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. We are well positioned to start delivering vehicles to customers,” she added.

VinFast’s two key e-SUV models, the VF 8 and VF 9, will be displayed at the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show 2023 (MEVS) in Canada’s Ontario opening on Friday.

The show, held at the Montreal Olympic Stadium on April 21-23, will feature more than 50 EV models from more than 20 car brands. VinFast joins the show for the first time.

The VF 8 will be delivered to Canadian customers in June while the VF 9 will be from the third quarter.

VinFast’s second batch of EVs set sail on Sunday for the U.S. and Canada. The shipment comprises a total of 1,879 VF 8 units. Prior to the June deliveries in Canada, the firm will hand over the model to U.S. customers in May.
