Sun Group last Saturday signed a comprehensive strategic partnership with Visa to elevate the travel experience of international visitors to Vietnam through digital innovation, seamless cashless payments, and data-driven marketing solutions.

The partnership between Sun Group and the global leader in digital payments focuses on developing advanced technology and payment solutions to strengthen Vietnam’s tourism-aviation-entertainment-hospitality ecosystem, while enhancing accessibility and overall experiences for international travelers.

Developing the Visit Vietnam platform to international standards

As part of the cooperation, Visa and Sun Group will jointly deploy the Visit Vietnam platform in line with international standards.

Visit Vietnam is a national tourism e-commerce platform developed and operated by Sun Group in collaboration with the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) and the National Data Association (NDA) and endorsed by the Government.

The platform aims to build a transparent, data-driven tourism ecosystem that supports policy planning for government authorities, empowers businesses, and enhances travel experiences for both domestic and international visitors.

Under the partnership, Visa will advise on user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design for Visit Vietnam, ensuring a friendly, seamless experience aligned with global travel platforms.

Visa will also integrate smart tourism payment solutions, including Visa contactless payments and expanded QR payments for small merchants via Visa QR Connector, enabling travelers to transact easily nationwide.

In addition, the two parties will integrate Visa Offers as a mini-app, delivering exclusive promotions and privileges for international travelers; implement joint marketing campaigns in key source markets leveraging Visa’s global network; and share market insights and tourism spending behavior analytics strictly in compliance with data security and privacy regulations to support long-term tourism strategy planning for Vietnam.

Enhancing digital payment infrastructure across Sun Group’s ecosystem

In parallel, Visa will collaborate with Sun Group to deploy payment gateway solutions across Sun Group’s entire ecosystem, supporting the upgrade of digital payment infrastructure for both online and point-of-sale transactions.

Advanced payment technologies will enable fast, one-step transactions, optimizing user experience, improving conversion rates, and meeting travelers’ demand for seamless payments in a digital environment.

Visa will also work alongside Sun Group to develop and launch co-branded payment products exclusively for the Sun Group ecosystem. These products will be designed around customers’ tourism, hospitality, and entertainment needs, offering enhanced benefits, privileges, and value-added experiences throughout their journeys.

Data-driven marketing and global brand expansion

By combining strengths in marketing and data analytics, Visa and Sun Group will enhance customer engagement and loyalty. The two sides will jointly implement co-branded marketing campaigns targeting high-potential customer segments, while expanding Sun Group’s brand awareness through Visa’s global network and partner ecosystem.

Expanding global presence through international events and partnerships

Visa and Sun Group will also leverage their respective strengths at major international tourism and trade fairs through partner networking, co-hosted promotional activities, and market intelligence sharing.

This collaboration not only expands the international presence of Sun Group’s ecosystem but also facilitates new strategic partnerships, driving visitor flows, investment, and business opportunities.

With a shared mission of bringing the world to Vietnam and taking Vietnam to the world, the partnership between Sun Group and Visa is expected to further amplify Vietnam’s image as a dynamic, modern, and globally connected tourism destination.

Commenting on the partnership, Dung Dang, Visa country manager for Vietnam and Laos said: “Today’s travelers seek convenience and peace of mind when exploring new destinations. Our collaboration with Sun Group helps position Vietnam as a leading tourism hub, delivering superior experiences for visitors while creating long-term value for the economy.”
